Kayak treeThis is the tree that I use to haul the kayak out of the water.

View from the kayak treeBelow is the boat and an enormous pile of gear. Every time I go out, I ask myself if I really need all the junk I'm taking, and the answer is always "no," but I'm always short of something else, so I end up taking more every time.

The first anchorThis has been here since late 2008. I'd had the van break down and had the ropes I used to get the kayak out of the water had been sabotaged the last two sea cliff attempts I made, and then I got sick for a couple months. Weighting it was disturbing.

The brushy areaThe vast majority of the route is either totally clean of just has a little moss on it. This part is the exception and was highly disturbing to aid off of.

Garbage! This bit was easy enough to climb, but the wetness and lack of any decent pro made it somewhat disturbing.

Looking down from the brushy area. The view here is amazing. The rock has an amazing number of climbable lines.

Attack of the ferns. Here the choice of holds was limited to dry, fragile bushes, ferns or muck. I eneded up using the ferns and the muck--even compared to the other options the bushes were too sketchy.

Finally some good pro.I think this tree is rated to hang a fire truck.

The rock to the leftLooking right from the brushy area gave this amazing view of an almost flat vertical wall. Around the corner there are some interesting roofs.

Shangri-LaOh the luxury! I'm pretty sure that this is at least as large, level and well decorated as the rooms in the Shangri-La. I wouldn't even call it a bivy--more like a retreat.

Looking up from the Shagri-LaThere are a lot of possible lines to finish the route. The chimney looks the easiest albeit the wettest.

The ledgeThis spacious ledge is just to the left of the Shangri-La, on the other side of a chimney. The ledge gives access to a bunch of potential routes.

My camThis is one of the cams from my neglected anchor. Under all the detritus is a bunch of rust.
