Description:

Hi all!

This is a 45 minute interval training workout, so if you want to increase your hiking/skiing fitness so you can boost up those hills/do super long days, then this is the workout for you! I ran one of these at my old outdoors club and it was heaps of fun! 

The format will be a 5min warm up, followed by a series of exercises that work different muscle groups (e.g. push-ups, sit-ups, burpees, squats etc) + cardio bursts (e.g high knees, mountain climbers, fast feet etc.), and a 5min warm down. Each exercise will be 1min-15secs long, with minimal breaks. 

I'm hoping to make this a weekly event if enough people are interested - please indicate in the comments if a different day or time works better for you! 

This is a workout for all levels of fitness - if you're fitter it shouldn't be easier, you'll just be faster!

Bring water and be prepared to sweat! :D

Next workout: Tues Nov 15 at 6:30pm (led by Carly) LOCATION: Indoor location (aquatic centre mazzanine & adjaicent courtyard)

Rainy/cold location: Mezzanine in the UBC aquatic centre (beside the nest). You go in the main doors of the aquatic centre and up the stairs just inside, and there's a big open tiled area with a door to a courtyard. 

  

Nice weather location: On the red sports track on the corner of Westbrook Mall and 16th Ave (by the big roundabout/traffic circle/rotary). Right beside our old location drawn on the map below.
