Pre-trip meeting: Wednesday, Sep. 27th, 6:00 pm
Pre-trip meeting location: Clubroom

Description:

Want to get out of the city for the weekend, but rock party isn’t for you?

Elfin Lakes are located within Garibaldi Park near Squamish. Accessing the Lakes requires a 3-4 hour hike on a steeper, but well-built trail.

Info on the Diamondhead area can be found HERE

Detailed trail info can be found HERE

The Plan:

-Pre-trip (Wed Sept 27th 6:00 pm @ Clubroom):

  • We will make sure you have all the required equipment and are organized in a carpool/tent group.

-Day 1 (Sat Sept 30th):

  • We will depart from the trailhead at 9:00 am, hike to Elfin Lakes (3-4 h), then continue to either Little Diamond Head or Opal Cone.

-Day 2:

  • After breakfast, we will head back down to the trailhead and return to Vancouver.

Things you should know:

  • This trip is considered beginner friendly. No backpacking or camping experience is required, just lots of stoke!
  • Tenting is encouraged (more fun!), but there is also a large hut at Elfin.
  • Reservations need to be made for both the tent pads and the hut. After tent groups are determined, you must book your spots HERE.
  • The VOC has boots, sleeping pads and backpacks for rent with deposit, but NOT tents. MEC offers rentals HERE.

Feel free to post any questions you have on the message board.
