Description:

This is a Beginner Friendly ski touring trip. This trip and the one labeled Heather's Group are the same trip. We will be going together as one group, but logistically it was easier to post as two trips.

We will either be going to Zoa Peak on the Coquihalla, or Whistler slackcountry. If we go to Whistler slackcountry everyone will either need a lift pass or a backcountry pass (~60$). Where we go will be decided at the pre-trip and is dependent on what people want, snow and weather conditions, and accesibility.

Numbers will be limited to two, maximum three, cars to keep the group small.

You don't have to be an expert skier, but we would like you to have basic downhill ability as this will make it more enjoyable to everyone, especially yourself. AST is not a firm reuirement, but it is prefered, and we can only take a few people without AST1 or equivalent comapnion rescue knowledge. We will be doing some practice pits and beacon searches, but Heather and I ARE NOT GUIDES and this is not meant as a course, just as a review for people who already have a working knowledge with this equipment.

Gear details will be discussed at the pre-trip, but you will need either AT skis (can be rented from MEC), telemark skis (VOC fleet), skins, and avi equipment. More details at the pre trip.

If you have any questions, please feel free to post on the associated message board thread or email Heather Hughes-Adams or myself.
