Description:
Come to Koerner Library Square and learn to navigate the old school way. No GPS, no batteries.
We'll learn how to:
- find your position on a map
- identify distant objects on a map
- plan a route from your position to your destination
- measure bearing and distance on a map
- measure bearing and distance on the ground.
You need to bring:
- a compass. You want a mirrored compass with adjustable declination. Compasses without adjustable declination are confusing as hell. No keychains.
- a pencil and a clipboard
- a large Ziploc freezer bag for your map (in case it rains).
I will bring printed maps, notes and delightful learning activities.
