Eagle Bluffs and Black Mountain hike: Saturday's hike had 19 attendees and despite minor hiccups with one vehicle giving up halfway up the hill, everyone made it to the building at Cypress Ski Resort! It was impressive how well dressed everyone was for wet weather, and just as well because the day was going to test the limits of what we had brought. How good is your rain jacket really? Needless to say everyone had fun, and for many it was their first VOC trip ever! All had a fantastic day with new friendships made.

Brief incident report:
On Sunday a group of VOCers went skiing at Metal Dome including Ross. Ross' ski got caught in heavy snow and as the ski twisted uphill the binding didn't release and he broke his tibula & fibula. Two skiers from another party who were in the area took charge of the situation and everybody helped out. Together they managed the situation and contacted SAR for a rescue (there was phone contact, a SPOT, and an InReach). A helicopter lifted him off the slope to a flatter area and from there he was flown to Whistler and transported to North Van. He is now recovering in the hospital. Special thank you to everyone who helped with the situation and rescue!
P.S. Ross' mom doesn't know yet, so please don't post things on social media.
