Ms. Manners
Dear Ms. Manners,
People keep asking WWVD. What does this mean?
Cheers,
Too Many Damn Acronyms

Dear TMDA,
It stands for What would Veenstra do? Christian Veenstra has been a member of the VOC for a long time and is observed by some as a legend like Gilgamesh; 2/3 god and 1/3 human. Examples of this godliness include: Tantalus traverse in a day, skiing from Harrison to Brew in a day, semi-Alcoholic speed traverse (<5 hrs) and Neve traverse (< 6 hrs). Amongst many useful things, he created a lightweight packing list (http://www.ubc-voc.com/mediawiki/images/a/aa/HowToPack.pdf) . If you'd like to hear more backcountry advice checkout this workshop (http://www.ubc-voc.com/tripagenda/details.php?tripid=1244) !
Cheers,
Ms. Manners
