I. Trip Reports
1) Garibaldi Neve Traverse
A large number of VOCers completed the Garibaldi Neve Traverse last
weekend in different directions, over different time periods and with
varying levels of companionship. Rumour has it that Stefan knocked it
off in just over 7 hours car-car. Tons of photo links in this thread:

2) Mountain Lake Meadows
Piotr, Philipp and Emily visited the Mountain Lake area. You really
need to read the poetic TR for yourselves!

3) Solo, Self-Supported to Seymour
Stephen Mullen biked to Mount Seymour with his skis, in the middle of
the night, by himself. More details are available:

There is also no slide show next week, you might want to attend the
VIMFF ski night instead.
2) Burton Hut, Feb. 23-24
A trip seems to be in the works to visit the Burton Hut in Sphinx
Bay (on Garibaldi Lake) this weekend. Check out the message board for
more info.

3) VIMFF, Feb. 22- Mar. 1
LAST CHANCE FOR DISCOUNT
The Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival will be starting
soon and the VOC has obtained a reduced ticket price ($12 instead of
$17 -19) for the duration of the festival (February 22nd - March 1st,
2008).
To get your tickets, just sign up on the wiki before February 20th,
11pm and pay the discount price at the doors. Christian Champagne
will send a copy of the list to Alan at VIMFF. No more paying him or
the VOC for a ticket. Easy and simple. If you can't come after signing
up, you don't have to pay.

4) BCMC Social, Mar. 11
This info passed on from the BCMC (British Columbia Mountaineering
Club):
The March presentation is one some VOC members might be interested in.
John Baldwin will be speaking on ski touring in the coastal mountains.
John will be familiar to many members both as an ex-VOCer and author
of "Exploring the Coast Mountains on Skis."
It is hoped the new, updated version of his book will be completed and
available but you never know with these things.
While we're expecting a good turnout for this meeting there is always
room for a few more. So, if any VOC members are interested they are
welcome to attend. There is no cost for attendance.
Starting next Wednesday the front page of the BCMC website (bcmc.ca)
with have all the pertinent information. The actual date of the
presentation is Tuesday, March 11.
