I. Trip Reports

1) Not another Monday night
Richard and Sebastian headed up to Seymour on Monday night.  Richard

2) Powdercap Traverse

3) Brew Trail Episode 10: Final Showdown
A group went up to the hut.  Along the way they installed the new
trailhead sign and adjusted markers along the trail that needed
adjusting.  No markers were installed on the road (see the thread for
a debate about this).

2) Garibaldi at Squamish Open House, Mar. 6
Tomorrow night there will be an open house from 5-9pm at the Empire
Landmark Hotel (Coal Harbour Room) at 1400 Robson St.  The proponent
will make a presentation about 6:30pm.  Get up to date on the

3) Phelix Trail Markers, Mar. 8-9
Pre-trip meeting tonight (Wednesday), 6:30pm, clubroom.
Christian V. is installing the trail markers on the trail to Phelix!

4) BCMC Social, Mar. 11
7:30pm, ANZA Club, 3 W. 8th Ave.

This info passed on from the BCMC (British Columbia Mountaineering
Club):

The March presentation is one some VOC members might be interested in.
John Baldwin will be speaking on ski touring in the coastal mountains.
John will be familiar to many members both as an ex-VOCer and author
of "Exploring the Coast Mountains on Skis."

It is hoped the new, updated version of his book will be completed and
available but you never know with these things.

While we're expecting a good turnout for this meeting there is always
room for a few more. So, if any VOC members are interested they are
welcome to attend. There is no cost for attendance.

5) Banquet, Apr. 2
SUB Ballroom
Mark it on your calendars, the banquet has been scheduled!
