Ms. Manners Dear Ms. Manners, I got back Sunday night from a rainy weekend at Glacier School, tired and wet. My housemate was still out of town on a cycling trip, so I had the place to myself to dry out gear. What is the etiquette for hanging a wet climbing rope to dry on your housemate's bedroom door? Sincerly, Soggy Dear Soggy, Any door in the house/apartment is fair game regardless of owner, as are all closets, chairs, and bicycles. May I also suggest that you toss any wet socks and dirty underwear into your housemate's laundry hamper rather than your own. We all know those aren't going to make it into the washing machine on Sunday night, and there's no sense in you having to deal with that stench while you recover from your weekend wounds. Just be careful that you don't start a war of retaliatory gear drying, unless you are prepared to win. Best wishes, Ms. Manners ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CONTRIBUTIONS to the VOCene are welcome.
