Description:

Hi,

***UPDATE: MAY plan on biking there!***

I have been off the last couple of weekends due to a ski injury, but am better now and am interested in doing a hike. This coming weekend should be nice. I'd like to try something new --- bring my travel watercolour set with me to do some art WHILE IN nature -- Monet impressionist style :P "Plein-Air"

Please bring your own art supplies! Small items that are easy to cary are recommended.

The Big Cedar and Kennedy Falls trail in North Vancouver is a rugged hike into the backcountry along the east side of Mount Fromme and to the west of Lynn Creek. The trail passes an enormous old-growth cedar tree (one of the only old growth trees to not have been logged in the area over 600 years old), with several trees growing out of it, before heading further north to a spectacular waterfall called Kennedy Falls. Waterfalls + big trees = nice art opportunities.

This is an intermediate hike, 10 km round trip, and is known to be quite rugged, with lots of rocks and roots on the trail. Either than that, minimal elevation gain.

Supplies recommended include: items for a day hike, proper hiking boots, day bag, snacks, lunch, 2 L water. See VOCs recommended packing list here

I am not keen on meeting up during the week (as I am a working professional now and campus is inconvenient for me). Conversation will be done through email, regular conversing MANDATORY. Going for approx. 5 people

Plein-Air
