Description:

So the May long weekend is coming up fast and it would be awesome to take advantage of it.

The thought is to drive to either Skaha, Levenworth or Smith Rock for a weekend of climbing on awesome new rock!

The trip is dependent on drivers and available camping locations on a busy long weekend such as this. Nevertheless, it would be sweet to get out somewhere.

Let's meet next week Tuesday and discuss potential options.

****UPDATED DESCRIPTION BELOW****

After a discussion at the pretrip, we have decided to go to Vantage, WA for the weekend.

The plan is to leave at 6 pm on Friday evening and return to Vancouver by 6 pm  Monday evening.

We expect to climb all day Saturday and Sunday and possibly get a few pitches in Monday morning before driving back to Van.

Minimal climbing experience is required but you should be able to climb 5.7 outdoors on toprope confidently and have access to basic climbing gear (shoes, harness, helmet, belay device and locking carabiner).

The weather will be quite hot (max 29 degrees C) so bring appropriate clothing, sun screen, sunglasses, etc. It is also recommended that you bring a bathing suit as we may be spending some time by the Columbia River to cool off each day.

If you are interested in going on this trip and haven't received an email from me yet, please shoot me a message and I'll try to fit you into a vehicle if there are any car spots remaining.

Lastly, get STOKED cause this is gonna be AWESOME! :D
