Description:

Hi everyone,

I'd like to organise a kayak and camping trip to Gambier Island. Halkett Bay Marine Provincial Park is located on the southeast corner of Gambier Island and has a campground.

I'd like to leave from Jericho on the morning of July 28 and then return to Jericho on July 29.

I have two kayaks that we can use, and we can rent more kayaks from Ecomarine in Granville Island.

In order to rent kayaks you need to be able to self rescue in a kayak. Let's plan to go down to Jericho beach to practice self rescuing on July 22.

We're only allowed to make camping reservations up to two weeks in advance, so I'll try to make some reservations as soon as I can.

Sign up if you're interested! If you sign up, please let me know whether you've kayaked before and whether you can swim (which I assume most of you can!).
