Description:

Tricouni is one of the pointy peaks you can see across the way from Brew. It is often hiked as a day trip. It is also often not completed as a day trip due to the likelihood of getting lost on logging roads or it being just too far to reach in good time. To get around these problems, ensure we have a nice, chill, beginner friendly time, and to ensure we take full advantage of the truly gorgeous meadows (with multiple lakes), we shall do this as an overnight trip.

Reaching the meadows is nice and simple, and not so far either. If you've never tried to go backpacking before but wanted to give it a go then this would be a great first time. Alternatively, if you've been itching for an idyllic place to hike into with your heavy guitar and watermelon in toe then this should be right up your alley too!

The climb to the top is a not so difficult scramble with minimal exposure. With all the extra time we are giving ourselves by doing it as an overnight trip we can travel at whatever pace makes everyone comfortable and still make it to the top (probably). Also, its the same way up as it is down, and we're a friendly bunch, so if anyone finds something they aren't comfortable going up we can easily find solutions. Never scrambled before? Where could possibly be better to start! And if we are making good time and finding everything a little too easy then we can try the more challenging ridge to summit Cypress from the summit of Tricouni.

What more could you possibly want from a trip?
