Description:

Let's practice how to rescue a fallen climber out of a real crevasse! That way we'll be more efficient if we ever have to deal with a real crevasse fall on future adventures.

You need to have completed Glacier School 1 or the Alpine Skills Course to join.

We'll drive to the Keith's hut trailhead on Friday night and camp there to avoid the Gran Fondo bike race on highway 99 on Saturday morning. On Saturday we'll make out way to the glacier, passing Keith's hut and find a suitable crevasse. After some practising we'll camp on the Matier-Joffre col. The next day we can practice more or maybe make an ascent on Mt Matier.

Right now whether this trip happens is contingent on having a car. We could get a Modo but it's not cheap for that many kilometers.
