Description:

Update: the plan is now to stay at Garibaldi Lake both nights.

I’ve been wanting to do this trip ever since I went up to Garibaldi Lake last year. This is a great trip for you if you’ve never been backpacking and want to try it out or if you just love good views and food. The trip is beginner friendly, just keep in mind that we will be doing a fair bit of hiking and two nights of camping.

Saturday: Hike up to Garibaldi Lake (9km, 3 hours of hiking) and have a potluck for thanksgiving dinner!

Sunday: Hike up to Panorama Ridge for more amazing views and then Camp at Taylor Meadows. (12km round trip, 4-5 hours of hiking)

Monday: Hike up to Black Tusk before heading back down to the cars and to Vancouver. (17km total)

We do need to get camping permits and we should do that as soon as possible to make sure we get a spot. You can make your reservation here once the tent groups are set.

You can find more information about the area here.
