Description:

This is event is not run by the VOC.

MEC is having their Snowfest which includes a great and extremely popular gear swap. More info on MEC's website.

Some people decide to camp overnight to be first in line for the best deals. Every year the club tries to purchase as much good gear as reasonable and possible. There is a 5 item limit that one person can buy (and only 1 pair of skis per person) so if we have more people come help us then we can buy more gear!

If you are intending on going and helping out, use the signup tools. If you are going just to buy gear for yourself, no need to sign up unless you are camping overnight in which case you might want to sign up so tents can be organized and such.

This will count as a workhike as long as AT LEAST 2 of the five items you buy are for the club (obviously you will get reimbursed for club items). You can buy gear for the club as well as for yourself, or just for the club if you're broke like me!

For instance: a pair of waterproof day La Sportiva Trango Hiking boots, 2 snowshoes and a Big Agnes Lightweight winter sleeping pad for $120 total. The deals are crzy.
