Description:
I am planning a last minute day trip to the Red Heather warming shelter in Garibaldi Park.
 
You do not need AST1 for the trip or experience snowshoeing/skiing. Although without a beacon, probe and shovel you should not go beyond the warming shelter towards Paul's Ridge. The trail to the shelter begins at about 900m and climbs to 1400m over about 5km along a road. None of the trail is very steep and there is little overhead avalanche hazard.
