Description:

The solar lighting at Sphinx Hut is not working. We will ski up to the hut and try to fix the lighting on Saturday. Depending on avalanche conditions and the weather we may ski above the hut on Sunday.

This trip is open to anyone who has been ski touring at least twice before and is reasonably fit. The trail involves 1000m of elevation and 12 km to reach the hut. It is not an easy trip but it is doable for beginners. Ideally, you would have been backpacking before but this is not absolutely necessary (just let me know before the trip so we can find you all the gear you need). Send me an email if you are not sure of your skill level.

If you are thinking about crossing the Neve later this spring – this is a good trip to get some practice skiing with an overnight pack on.

Also, we will need to pay $10 to BC Parks to camp in the park. The hut may be full this weekend so we will carry tents.
