Description:

UPDATE: The weather is looking better for Sunday so we'll aim for that day instead of Saturday. Also, since the backcountry skiing group is going to the same place we've decided to make it a joint trip, so if you want to ski that is an option.

I’ve never been to the Coquihalla, so let’s take a trip out there for an easy snowshoe! To get to the summit of Zoa Peak is 11 km round trip with about 700 m of elevation gain, although if there’s any avalanche risk we’ll stop at the sub-peak. At the top we will hopefully find great views of the surrounding mountains and frozen Falls Lake below. If there’s time on the way back we can maybe try to stop at the historic Ladner Trestle as well. This shouldn’t be a particularly difficult outing but I may give priority to people with at least some snowshoeing experience so that we can keep a decent pace.

I plan to run this mainly as a snowshoe, but if enough people really want to ski we could have another group do that as well.
