Description:

Please read the club’s guidance for covid-19 safety before signing up for this trip. We’ll need to figure out a way to get people to the trailhead, but that’s easier to discuss once I have an idea of the general interest.

Anyway, I’d like to get out to the Tricouni area for a weekend. This is a somewhat underrated spot out near Squamish featuring beautiful lakes and a peak to potentially hike up as well. My plan is to leave Vancouver early on Saturday to hike in and set up camp. Depending on the forecast we can try to get to the peak either in the evening on Saturday or early morning on Sunday. Then on Sunday we’ll pack it up and head back.

The total hike (including the distance to the peak) is about 27 km round trip with 2000 m elevation gain. We’ll camp somewhere along the way, so not all of that will be done with full packs on. You’ll need your standard overnight gear, including tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, etc. We’ll try to avoid sharing gear where possible. I have a feeling there might still be snow in the higher elevations, so be prepared for that. Also, bug spray will probably be a good idea this time of year.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions/concerns!
