Description:

Please check out the club’s new guidelines prior to signing up for this or any trip.

I scored two tent pads at Rampart Ponds, so let's take a trip out to Garibaldi! This is a long approach - we'll go 11 km to Elfin Lakes, then basically double that to the Rampart Ponds backcountry campsite in the alpine. However, I expect the views to more than make up for it, as the area beyond Elfin is said to be spectacular. Either on the approach or return we can drop our packs and summit the Opal Cone, or any other side trips we deem worthwhile.

Because of the distance this is not a beginner friendly trip. I currently have room for 6 people on the permit, but that'll probably have to be adjusted depending on tent sizes. We can maaayyybe fit 3 per site but it'll be iffy (I believe the pads are 10x10 feet but haven't camped out there before). So some creativity and/or geometry skills may be required.

Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments!
