Description:

NOTE: This week's coffee on the beach is happening on THURSDAY, because we may as well avoid the rain for as long as we can.

I saw snow in the mountains today. You know what that means, it's almost ski season!

To get psyched and get safe, we'll be doing beacon practice at this week's coffee on the beach. Everyone is welcome, whether you're a pro who throws bombs at wind slabs for money or new to the backcountry and want to know how this stuff works.

The plan is to do an overview of the avalanche rescue process for those who need it, then one or two people at a time will run around on the beach looking for buried beacons while the rest of us make coffee and maybe time them if we don't think they're moving fast enough.

People who just want coffee are also welcome!
