Description:

Hello VOC folks!

Since small, local trips are now allowed, I wanted to run a little bike ride 'trip'.

For those who don't know, I'm the new Membership Chair on exec and I like pretty much all things bike related.

The group will be limited to 6 people, including myself.

Priority will be to new VOC members/members who haven't gone on a trip yet, but anyone can and should sign up!

If there's lots of interest, we could see about splitting up or having a ride an additional night.

The plan:

Meet Grounds for Coffee (10/alma) 8pm (come at 7:45pm if you want to get a cinnamon bun before they close at 8!)

Bike along the seaside bike route in Kits, crossing the Burrard Bridge, going down Pacific St, then into Stanley Park on the seawall.

The seawall is the flat path along the perimeter of Stanley Park. It's beautiful at night with the stars bright and practically no one else on the path.

We will be going at "partypace", aka easy conversational speed. No one will be 'dropped' and we will wait for folks to get up the hills (if you count the Burrard Bridge as a hill). It will be a fun ride with the goal of getting our blood pumping while building community.

Round trip distance to Grounds: 1.5-2hours with stops, 25km

Required gear:

- working bike

- front and rear bike lights (If you need to borrow lights, shoot me an email)

- water (if you're into that)

- mask

- hand sanitizer

- bike tube (check the sides of your tires to find the correct tube size - someone at your local bike shop can help you out!)

Optional but encouraged:

- tire levers

- multi-tool

- hand pump

Thanks for reading!
