Description:

Do you like hot springs, bikepacking, and ? Then this is the trip for you.

The VOC Wiki says this is one of the best hot springs in BC and is remaining pristine due to the difficulty to access

Not convinced? There's also this video.

To avoid all the logistics of renting canoes and getting them to Pitt Lake, I figured it would be easier to just take a water taxi to the FSR instead. Pitt River Lodge is quoting $350 one-way for 6 people, which comes to ~$120 each. This trip can only happen if we have 6 people to split the cost.

The plan:

  1. Bike 25km from Coquitlam Central Skytrain Station to Grant Narrows Park at Pitt Lake (we can also bike from UBC if anyone is keen)
  2. Board a water taxi to go to the Pitt River FSR.
  3. Bike 22km on the Pitt River FSR to the hot spring
  4. Set up camp and spend the night
  5. Head out in the morning

What to bring:

  • FSR capable bike (Gravel bike, mountain bike, hybrid bike,...)
  • Summer camping gear

As I have very limited backcountry experience, if you are interested in leading this trip, please let me know!

I am also open to modifying the plan, including potentially making this a day trip, which we can discuss in the pre-trip meeting.
