Description:

I've ignored Lynn Headwaters for the longest time as it is associated with picnicing with my tiny sisters and maybe playing by the pebbled river. But something sparked my interest recently and I realized there are cool stuff like Norvan Falls and Coliseum mountain around that I haven't gotten around to do at all!

Norvan Falls is a 14 km round trip, fairly flat route along Lynn Creek. This option is pretty beginner friendly(and i mean the first type of beginner friendly) and you are able to turn back at any point you would like, should you decide you want to do a shorter trip. There is a fall at the end for a nice lunch break though.

If we continue to the right at the Coliseum Mountain junction, the trail becomes significantly steeper, more rugged, and generally more difficult. (this moves towards the second and third definitions of beginner friendly) Roundtrip from the parking lot will be 23.5 km, so this is definitely doable but will be a fairly long day depending on our speed. The views on the summit are promised to be panoramic and pretty sweet though, and there are a few tarns along the way we and hop in for a quick swim.

Lynn Headwaters is also transit accessible, so that's always an option if driving/carpooling doesn't work out. Parking lot apparenlty fills up fairly fast as well so carpooling is encouraged. We can figure that out at the pre-trip meeting.

The plan is to meet at the parking lot at 8am to ensure enough daylight and to make sure we get parking spots.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns!
