Description:

See views of Taylor Meadows, Garibaldi Lake, Panorama Ridge, Black Tusk, Helm Glacier, Whistler Mountain on the way to camp at the beautiful Helm Creek.

Intermediate trip, but open to beginners if you're willing to slog a bit in the rain - 18km each way, solid elevation (up past Garibaldi Lake)

Need bear spray as there are bears in the area (black bears :) ) - stay in groups of 3-4 and at least one person in the group should have bear spray. Make noise and do a bear hang and you'll be fine. There might even be a bear hang (or bear cache) at the campground.

12 spots - 3 tent pads (4 people per tent pad). Cost will be $15-25/person depending on how many people come, plus gas money.

I can't lead this trip so this needs a trip leader to organize car groups, tent groups, and exact pickup times. You don't need that much experience to lead a trip. I booked this campground back in June when BC parks opened up campgrounds for the rest of the season. It is all sold out.

Weather reports say rainy, but that hasn't stopped VOCers before

Access is from Rubble Creek (18km) to Helm Creek vs. 10km from Cheakamus Trailhead, but Cheakamus Trailhead is closed at the moment.

If you're able to help out "leading" at all aka planning (no real experience needed for following signs and a very well established trail to the campground), please email me [email protected]
