Description:

Hello all!

Inspired by Julia's ill fated trip idea for Thursday I decided it was time I stopped being lazy and finally organised a trip this year.

I've been a perennially terrible climber for almost 10 years now, having successfully made my way through rock 1-4 without doing enough climbing to actually get any good at the going up part. This means I'm good at not getting people killed and only ever want to climb really easy (to other people) climbs. With rock party just done there has to be a long list of new climbers keen to get out who haven't had time to get too good to climb with me yet. So, if the idea of a weekend of easy climbing with good weather sounds good to you then sign up and lets make it happen. With a whole weekend we can even do our best to fit in a crash course or two. Getting the hang of this climbing lark and want to learn to build some anchors? Got anchor building and rappelling down and want to start leading? There is definitely potential for such things. All ready good at climbing but want to help me get a few ropes up before finding something more challenging? Would love to have you along too. We will work out numbers at a zoom pre-trip on Thursday based on our skill mix, available gear and car spots.

Don't worry if you like the idea of this trip but you don't have gear for camping. In nine years I've never seen an example of someone needing camping gear and us not being able to find something that will work in the back of someones wardrobe.

Oh, and I figured we could climb and camp at Chek Canyon. It's convenient and has at least some climbs I know I can get up.
