Description:

edit jan 10 7pm: all 16 spots are filled. The "interested" signup section will act as the waitlist in case someone bails and they need their spot filled. Please do not email me asking if there are spots. I will contact those on the interested list if spots become available.

So you think you wanna Bobsled?

I have reached out to Whistler Sliding Centre aka icy track where Olympic athletes go fast in or on modified sleds.

https://www.whistlersportlegacies.com/whistler-sliding-centre/things-to-do/discover-bobsleigh

The cost is $55/person plus gas/bus ($20-25). The $57.50 cost would need to be paid to me where I will make the reservation for the group. There are no refunds unless of changing PHO orders or if you get covid. If you need to bail, I can try to help you find a replacement.

The max group size is 16, a number set by Whistler Sliding Centre. Ideally, we could carpool, masks required. The centre is just past blackcomb upper lot 8. Or else we could bus from Whistler village and walk a bit.

Please read the link above and then signup. By noon Sunday Jan 9 6pm, I hope to have the group finalized. Preference will go to early signup driver's, then committed and interested as per usual VOC trips. If you wanna go, expect an email from me Sunday night and then be prepared to etransfer me $57.50 by 10pm Sunday evening to confirm your spot. No pretrip meeting quite yet. Might just be email faff.

The session seems to be 2.5-3 hours, from 11am-2pm. I'd be keen to get to Whistler early and ski some resort laps before we slideee. There's also a giant snow tubing run just next to the sliding centre for those who prefer air and rubber over composite wood.
