Description:
Hey! Are you interested in getting more involved with outdoor recreation sports or wanting to get started?

In a much anticipated collab with the VOC and Surf Club, we are hosting our very first (and hopefully not last) beginner’s workshop and mixer! We will be sharing some of our own experiences with getting involved in the outdoors, finding affordable gear and rental options, and hosting lil workshops on camping/skiing/hiking/climbing basics, surf etiquette, and tons of other topics! Most importantly we want this to be a space for you to meet new people and make some new contacts. If you’re looking for a stellar opportunity to get introduced to our clubs as well as learn some useful stuff, you’ve found it!
We recognize this event is taking place on the occupied, unceded and ancestral territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) Coast Salish Nations. We’d also like to recognize that we recreate locally within these territories and they should be respected as we visit them.
This event will take place in-person and follow provincial COVID-19 guidelines (masks and double vax are mandatory to attend). *Plus we’ve got loooots and hand sanitizer* And just in case you can’t make it, the presentation info will also be available online. If anything changes, we’ll keep y’all updated & if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask! Hope to see you there!

Also, if you are someone who is wanting to be involved with running workshop or would like to share some of your knowledge (especially if you love talking about gear), feel free to reach out and email [email protected] :)
