Start: Thursday, Feb. 24th, 12:06 am
Pre-trip meeting location: Zoom

Description:

There are quite a few beginner trips, but not so many advanced trips, so I thought I would post one in case there is interest from some strong (avy trained) skiers who are looking to get into harder ski tours during the reading break!

We will likely ski Banana Chute if conditions permit. Alternatively, we could ski DOA on the Backcomb side if we want an easier approach. Or some more mellow skiing if the wind slabs progress for the worse (although right now it is trending for the better).

Teton Gravity Research Forums

I am potentially sleeping in Whistler on Wednesday night, so if there is some interest, hopefully there is at least one person with a car who can drive people up from Vancouver Thursday morning. I would max our group size to be ~6 people, so just looking for 2-4 people to join.

Pre-Reqs: AST-1 or 2, can ski double black resort ski runs comfortably, has a Whistler ski pass or is willing to pay for a 1-day backcountry pass (~$70), is comfortable boot packing up steep exposed terrain (ice axe needed).

Pre trip meeting: Zoom Wednesday night at 6pm will be sent out via email some time before then to anyone who is on the interested list.
