Description:

... yes this trip got moved from Thursday to Friday due to rain. No there are not spots, sorry :(

Inspired by Emi/Zac's and Sonia's recent climbing trips :)

An afternoon/evening (1-6pm approx) at Murrin park near Squamish. Group size 2 cars. Happy to teach people rock 1 and 2 basics (rock 1 is how to belay and rock 2 is setting up anchors). If someone else wants to teach rock 3 (lead climing) basics that could be awesome but you'll need to supply your own gear as the club only has top-rope-only ropes and no quickdraws. Cost is just gas money to your driver. I can rent an evo which would be approx $25/person, but usually gas money is cheaper ($10-20 per person depending on the car and driver).

I'd like a mix of learners and more experienced folks. Preference to people who haven't gone on one of the beginner friendly climbing trips yet this season and for the learners, have little/no climbing experience outside.

No pretrip, email faff instead. If you're interested, plan on getting gear during gear hours early in the week (shoes, harness, helmet). We will share ropes and belay devices (ATCs) as well as anchor stuff. State what you have in the signup questions. If you're getting gear from the clubroom anyway, it would be great if you could grab a rope and Squamish Select book while you're there.

Any questions, email me. Should be a lovely day! Car groups/trip people should be set by end of day Monday, so check your email on Monday morning. If there's a lot of interest, I can direct people to go to other areas and self-organize.
