Description:

I've been to a few hikes around Vancouver and Mount Gardner has by far the best view. In clear weather, you will be able to see Vancouver, the Sunshine Coast, and Squamish. The best part? It's transit accessible. This is the perfect hike if you are new to Vancouver or just want to spend a day outside.

From the ferry terminal, the trail is approximately 16km long with 800m of elevation round trip. While this trip is beginner-friendly, fitness is still required.

We will leave UBC at around 7 am and link up downtown to get the 257 Express Bus to Horseshoe Bay. Then, we can take the 9:05 am ferry over to Bowen Island and start the hike. I am not a very fast hiker so we'll take this chill.

There are many pubs and restaurants on Bowen Island if we finish the hike early.

What to bring?

  • Good shoes
  • Water
  • Lunch/ snacks
  • 10 essential (https://www.northshorerescue.com/education/what-to-bring/)

I am also looking for people to help co-lead this trip, please get in touch!

Please feel free to email me any questions.
