Description:

We have a bit of a situation at Phelix hut- it appears that part of the roof has come apart. The plan is to head up to the hut to fix this, and possibly do a few other tasks while we are up there.

Time permitting, there are some amazing scrambles in the area that I would like to check out as well. There will also be ample opportunities for swimming in the lake.

This is a great trip for those who are interested in learning more about what goes into maintaining VOC huts, and also those who are new to overnight trips, as the hike is fairly managable and we can sleep in the hut.

I would appreciate having some other experienced hut fixers or construction folks along- I do not have any idea how exactly we should go about fixing the roof.

Because the drive is long, it might be good to leave friday night and sleep at the trailhead, but we can accomodate those who can only leave saturday morning as well.

Feel free to send me an email with any questions.
