Description:

***Beginner friendly toprope climbing trip to Squamish, destination TBA***

This trip is for beginners and intermediates who want to climb top rope outside. If any sports climbers wanna join and help set up a few top ropes, that would be awesome!

Everyone should know how to belay (is taught at the Aviary), otherwise there are no requirements regarding experience. This trip will be a great place to try climbing outside for the first time!

Everyone should bring personal gear (helmet, harness, shoes, and if possible an ATC/grigri + carabiner). We will also be needing anchors and ropes. I plan to borrow a lot of the VOC top ropes, but anchors may be hard to come by. If anyone can bring some that would be awesome. Most of the personal gear can be rented from the VOC, otherwise try to make a friend on the message boards or in the Aviary, who might be willing to lend you some gear :)

We will figure out the place in Squamish when we know how many people are going and the levels.

Update the 16th of September:

THE TRIP IS AT CAPACITY!

But the current plan is to go to Burgers and Fries at Smoke Bluffs, or the parking lot wall at Smoke Bluffs or both depending on how full the two places are.

Looking forward to the trip!
