Description:

EDIT SEPT 22: if you sign up after Sept 22 please email me, I have sent out a spreadsheet for availability!

Looking for at 2-3 people at a time to help run the club booth on Club Days. We will have a booth on Wednesday (Sept 28) and Thursday (Sept 29) It will be from 11am-5pm on these days with set up at 10:30. You do not have to be at the booth all 6 hours :)

We can do a rotating schedule, and I will send out an excel spread sheet to anyone who signs up closer to our date where you can fill out your availability, along with our booth's day and location.

Basically we'll be explaining the basics of the club. The biggest questions we get is how to sign up and if you have to have outdoor experience to join (no).

This is a very chill way to get a workhike under your belt (a way of giving back to the VOC, helps us keep up services like free gear rentals), and a great way to meet prospective members as well as other current members.

(Excerpt from last year's club day description:)

AMS Clubs Days is a time where TONS of clubs have booths to advertise to new members and answer questions with current members.

Requirements: - general understanding of the club, main trips, where to find info (website + wiki)

- inclusive and welcoming language (ask instead of assuming someone's experience)

- charged laptop to show people the website and how to sign up

- know where the clubroom is/direct people to the clubroom

- know the signup process (https://www.ubc-voc.com/how-to-join

Nice to have

- grab the VOC club sign from the clubroom and drop it off at the end

- sell VOC swag?

It would also be nice to have some people able to answer questions in the clubroom and to show prospective VOCers the gear room and library.

Location: plaza right outside the AMS Student Nest (6133 University Blvd.)

Here is a great pic we got of a Kung Fu Club and VOC collaboration in our booth's canoe last club day:

Hope to see you there!
