Description:

I learned last year that the best way to spend Thanksgiving day is on top of a mountain, and I plan to do the same thing this year.

Mount Strachan is a ~10km hike with ~550m of elevation gain in Cypress Provincial Park. This hike is appropriate for intermediate hikers with some previous experience.

My plan is to arrive early to beat the crowds, climb to the top of the mountain and enjoy views of Howe Sound and Garibaldi. Since this is a Thankgiving trip and I like pie, my plan is to carry a pie up to the top for everyone to enjoy at the north peak. If you would like pie, I ask that you bring $3 to cover its cost, as well as some kind of container and utensil to eat it with. Ideally, we will be back down and heading back to the city before the long weekend traffic.

Since this is a relatively last-minute trip, details will be sorted out via email instead of having a pre-trip meeting.
