Description:
Howdy folks! It’s rolling around to the time of year when we get together with the Alpine Club of Canada to eat some food, meet new people, and score some sweet deals on gear.
Here’s the idea: The ACC is a club of super rad people just like us who enjoy doing things outside. The VOC has a partnership with them which allows our members to go on trips with them and get discounts on staying in some of their huts in the region. Talk about bang for your buck! And that's not all...
Why, you ask, are you telling me this Adam? Well, our older friends at the ACC tend to have a bit more spending money than us students. When they want to upgrade their gear, what do they do? Well, they sell it at a discount to us VOC’ers! We get cheap(er) gear and another club to go hang out with, and they get us, to keep their club youthful! A win-win situation if I've ever seen one.
If you decide you want to sell some gear yourself, please arrive early to set up at a table, and be sure to bring pens and sticky notes to advertise your prices (or I guess you could yell like old-timey stockbrokers if you just don’t feel like using paper), and, of course, have cash with you to score your own sweet deals!
(Vendors are free to accept e-transfer if they wish, but to play it safe bringing cash isn’t a bad idea.)
