Hello everyone!
The Alpine Club of Canada is having their annual general meeting soon, and as an affiliated student club, all of the VOC is invited. Well, not all of the VOC--that would be a lot of people in one room--but in any case, the AGM is happening and it’s open to any of us who want to attend! There will be popcorn and two-dollar beer (*yum*), as well as presentations and door prizes.
Veteran VOC’er Christian Veenstra will be giving a presentation about a Herculean ski traverse he completed in June, which involved urban cycling, not-so-urban canoeing, bushwacking, and very little sleep. His trip report, which you can read here, is impressive, and I’m psyched to hear what he has to say about his trip.
The event will be taking place at Van Dusen Floral Hall, located at 5251 Oak Street, here. (Doors open at 6pm, meeting starts at 7pm.)
To give the ACC an idea of numbers, please sign up on their website, here. We are still waiting on our affiliate memberships to be processed by the ACC’s national office, so sign up as a guest if you don’t yet have credentials.
This should be a fun night; I'm hoping to see lots of fellow VOC'ers there! :)
