Description:

I've had to miss out on most of the fun holiday skiing, so I'm planning to hit the Seymour backcountry on Wednesday to kick in the new year, and would be more than happy if other people wanted to join!

It's probably gonna be a pretty chill day, as my goal is mostly just to break in some new gear and enjoy being at an elevation greater than sea level. Mt. Seymour isn't the most exciting or exotic ski destination but I expect it to be satisfactory to meet these goals, and it is wonderful when considering the ratio of time spent driving vs time spent on skis. As for skill level, you don't need to be an extremely advanced or ambitious skier (I'm not), but you should have been touring at least once before.

How far into the backcountry we will venture will of course depend on avy conditions, but I'm expecting to be able to get at least some kind of downhill out of this. If the forecast is looking really really horrible, I can probably swing Thursday or Friday depending on what my employer has to say about the subject matter.
