Description:

*To go on this trip, you must also be going to Burns and Turns*

Since everyone else is posting their alternate trip plans, I will too.

Are you like me, and don't actually get long weekends off work? Still want to go ski? If there's enough interest to fill my car, I'm thinking of heading up to Phelix on Friday to get some turns in on Saturday morning while everyone else is stuck in the Whistler traffic. And then, because stat pay calls, we will head back on Sunday after a significantly shorter morning of skiing.

Because the point of doing this is actually to go skiing, I will require that you are a confident skiier, have AST-1, are comfortable evaluating conditions, and have been on backcountry skis and carrying an overnight bag before.

Ideally we might actually be able to fit in the hut on Friday night since, unlike for the next two nights, there aren't 80-90 people registered to use it. However, we should be prepared for tenting, especially for Saturday night.

I'm very open to suggestions on which direction to explore, and very keen on making Saturday a long ski day! If you would like to come up on Friday with me and attempt to arrange your own ride down on Monday (or later), that's okay too, but at your own risk and responsibility.

Oh and as a side note... Sunday (and the next Tuesday for that matter) is actually also a Finnish holiday, Laskiainen. I don't want to steal the Burns Night thunder, but I'm going to bring up some traditional pastries for us to enjoy!
