I want to learn to belay before going to Son of Rock, and UBC Aviary's lessons are full last I checked (and I heard they fill up quickly), so last night I looked up belaying lessons in the Greater Vancouver area and decided that the one offered at the Richmond Oval has the best deal because it includes two complimentary climbing passes, and it's close enough that I'll probably go there to use them (compared to, say, Abbotsford or Squamish).
The lesson I'm taking is tomorrow 7:00pm - 8:45pm. Each lesson allows 4 people maximum, and when I looked this up last night only 2 spots were left. I've already registered, so only 1 spot is left :(

Richmond Oval's next lessons are April 27th and May 9th, and check here for more dates (they're not offered as often as other gyms).
UBC Aviary offers free belay lessons. I went to check maybe two weeks ago and lessons were all booked up for the rest of the semester. I'm not sure when the summer schedule comes out or if they'll have lessons during the summer (if you know pls lmk!).
Most belay courses seem to be around $80 dollars, and a few offer free climbing for the two weeks after your lesson (they're in Abbotsford and Squamish, so kinda far). The cheapest lesson ($55 + tax) I found is at Coastal Climbing Center in Surrey, but it doesn't include any complimentary climbing.
