VOC trips are organized by members like yourself, not professional guides. The trips go into wilderness areas where assistance is unavailable and unexpected events can occur. You could be seriously injured or die. You are responsible for your own actions. Please use caution.

Learn how to extract and formulate UTM grid references and Latitude & Longitude coordinates.  Learn how to navigate effectively using GPS, either by taking coordinates from the map or by using saved waypoints.  Learn important aspects of configuring GPS receivers.


Location: UBC campus, room Buchanan B141 and then outside

What to bring: GPS if possible, 50 cents for two maps to practice with
