Description:

This might be the last weekend to do any scrambling with cold weather coming, so I'm hoping to make use of it! Castle Towers is one of the taller mountains in Garibaldi Provincial Park, and the scramble to the West summit is relatively far but only class 2. To get to the true summit requires class 3/4 scrambling.

The plan would be to head up Saturday morning, hike in from Cheakamus Lake, and camp at Gentian Pass. On Sunday, we'll get up early to try to summit castle towers, then hike out. The weather is looking good for these days, but if that changes I may shift the dates to Sun/Mon.

In order to go on this trip you should be a confident backpacker. The hike on Saturday is ~14.5k with ~1,300m of elevation gain, and most of the scramble on Sunday should be doable for confident backpackers.

I'm planning on only going up there with one car group (I don't have a car :/), but if there's enough interest/drivers we could take more.
