Hi everyone,
This is another installment of the 2018 summer long weekend rock climbing adventures. In May, a group of 8 of us had an epic time down in Vantage climbing basaltic pillars. Earlier this month, 12 of us did some fun sport climbing down in Mazama (near the North Cascades) and completed (or attempted to complete) an 11 pitch sport bolted multipitch to celebrate Canada Day. I'm looking forward to the next location we get to explore (and send!!).
The August Long Weekend has a STAT on Monday, August 6th for the BC Day holiday. Similar to the last two trips, the location is subject to change based on weather and people's interests and the trip is very dependent on the number of drivers.
Since it will likely be a very hot this weekend, consideration will be given to locations where it is easier to escape the heat. All suggestions are welcome though so please feel free to post on the message board all awesome places you can think of to spend a long weekend rock climbing. Skaha is definitely a consideration this time as I expect it to be less busy than it was on the May Long and July Long weekends.
