Description:

Welch Peak is the highest point in the Cheam Range near Chilliwack, and the most common way up is a ~13k (round trip), ~2000m hike+scramble with some class 3-4 terrain. I haven't been there before, but it looks like a cool place to explore. Depending on the overall speed and interest of the group, I would consider adding a second summit (neighboring Foley Peak) to the day's itinerary.

In terms of gear, I highly recommend a helmet, and a harness+belay device since it is likely we will rappel a bit on the way down.

There will be no pre-trip meeting, but feel free to use the message board for questions/concerns/logistics. Since I do not currently own a vehicle, this trip will only happen if at least one generous person volunteers to drive.
