Description:

Due to Gran Fondo on the Sea-To-Sky this trip has changed location to instead head for Mt Cheam and Lady Peak. As a backup plan if our vehicles fail to make it to the trailhead, we will go to Mt Macfarlane.

** old info below **

I haven't been to Tenquille Lake before but it looks like a blast. Lake to swim in, easy scrambles all around, and even a cabin? What more could you ask for?

As an experiment, I'd like to make this a paw-friendly hike as I'll have my dog Stella with me. Are there any other VOC doggos out there? I'm going to cap the capacity at 3 four-legged participants though, to keep things manageable. Note: you will have to camp in a tent with your dog if you are bringing one as they are not allowed in the hut.

I have a car but it's a 2WD so we will be taking the 2WD approach which is 9.5km with 1450m elevation gain. That's pretty steep but we'll take it easy. If anyone has a 4WD let me know in the signup.

I'd love to prioritize beginners of all abilities on this trip as I haven't been seeing as many total beginners as I used to in the club! I know you're out there... don't be afraid! If you have never backpacked or even camped before, we can help you get started. We will never leave you behind or pressure you to climb anything you're uncomfortable with. Feel free to email me personally ([email protected]) with any concerns/questions if you're unsure! There's no such thing as a stupid question when it comes to your personal safety. :)

I haven't quite decided which scrambles we will attempt, but there seem to be many - Goat, McLeod, Barbour, Copper Mound, Finch Ridge - if anyone has a recommendation please hit me up.

That's all! See you at the pretrip! (I haven't decided on location yet but it might be the beach)

PS. Please only sign up as committed if you're seriously committed!
