Description:

Are you a female looking for stoke? Do you love skiing the backcountry spring corn? This trip is an INTERMEDIATE level ladies only ski trip Sphinx Bay (location perhaps to change...depending on Garibaldi Lake frozenness). We will leave early Saturday morning and spend the day enjoying time in the wilderness, until we sleep at Burton Hut. Sunday we will ski something (weather dependant) in the morning, and then book it fast back to North Van, to catch the amazing She Summits film: Perspective & Perseverance (with guest speaker Lynn Hill!) at 7pm-9:30pm on Sunday at the Centennial Theatre. YOU HAVE TO BUY YOUR OWN TICKET to the film, so whether you come on this trip on not, you can buy your ticket in advance by following the link below. I have a feeling they will sell out quick!

https://www.shesummits.org/program?mc_cid=46a330bf2d&mc_eid=f6d69e3557

This trip is open to MAX 10 people and you must have 2 of the following 3 requirements:

1- ability to ski blue runs

2- AST 1 (or ability to find and dig out a person from avi debri in under 5 mins)

3- winter camping experience (in a hut or tent)

As mentioned previously, this trip location is weather dependent, so if you have any other objectives that you are interested in, please e-mail me!

The going list will also not be determined by signup order. It will be based on previous experience and skill level because this is not a beginner friendly trip.

Pretrip meeting topics:

- introductions and intentions (group goals)

- location of trip

- route planning as group

-navigation apps on your phone (download Viewranger, or gaia, or some other map app)- everybody should have a map app with predownloaded maps (navigation is everybody's responsibility -especially in the club setting). This is a super important safety feature on phones.

- gear requirements (and food groups)

WOO! I can't wait! See you at the trip-trip!
