THE ESSENTIAL COURSE - 50 Hours
BLENDED DELIVERY: ONLINE CAMPUS AND HANDS-ON WORKSHOP
HANDS-ON WORKSHOP: Friday to Sunday 

 

  • Online Campus allows flexibility with a focus on the learn-at-your-own-pace model.
  • Instructor interaction starts one week prior to your Hands-on Workshop and finishes when you write your final exam two weeks after your Workshop.
  • Hands-on Workshop will involve both indoor and outdoor class time devoted to practicing hands-on Wilderness First Aid practical scenarios.

 

CONTENTENVIRONMENTAL ILLNESS; SUCH AS FROST BITE AND HEAT ILLNESS, ACUTE SUDDEN ILLNESS; SUCH AS SEVERE LIFE THREATENING ALLERGIES, HEART ATTACKS AND STROKES AND TRAUMAS; SUCH AS BROKEN ARMS AND LEGS, ANKLE SPRAINS AND SPINAL INJURIES.

 

THE ADVANCED COURSE - 90 hrs
BLENDED DELIVERY: ONLINE CAMPUS AND HANDS-ON WORKSHOP
HANDS-ON WORKSHOP: 5 days, generally friday to Tuesday

  • Instructor interaction starts one week prior to your Hands-on Workshop and finishes when you write your final exam two weeks after your Workshop.

CONTENT: ILLNESS, CHRONIC MEDICAL CONDITIONS; SUCH AS ASTHMA, SEIZURE DISORDERS, HEART CONDITIONS, ENVIRONMENTAL ILLNESS; SUCH AS TICKS DISEASES, HYPOTHERMIA, ACUTE SUDDEN ILLNESS; SUCH AS ANAPHYLAXIS, HEART ATTACKS, STROKES, AND TRAUMA HEAD CONCUSSIONS, SHOULDER DISLOCATIONS, SPINE INJURIES, ANKLE SPRAINS.
