Description:

Hello fellow adventurers!
My name is Yuxuan Deng and PM me on Facebook regarding logistical details.
I am planning a Garibaldi Glacier ski trip on Dec 28 ending on 29. The plan is to take the Diamond head route and sleep in the glacier overnight and head back to Vancouver the second day. I will not be providing equipment so please have your own set sleeping bags, sleeping pads, skis etc. And of course, we can adjust tenting arrangements according to the number of people who come. I will be providing a stove to share.

Distance: 16km one way, 32km round trip.
Difficulty: Intermediate
Preferred Group size: 3-5 (Including me)
Weather: Most likely snowy.
Specialized equipments: A shovel/2 people, preferably avalanche shovel to create our campsite.

Risks: Safety first.
-In terms of avalanche risk, most of the route is safe from avalanche dangers, however, the final few km of the trip could be exposed to avalanche paths. We will adjust our routes accordingly once we get there. I have AST-1 training so hopefully I could put my knowledge to use. So far, Avalanche Canada has rated the danger to be moderate, however this will change as the days go on. We will plan accordingly once departure date approaches.

-In terms of crevasses, we will avoid them if they are spotted. Since we are traveling on skis, that should eliminate some risks associated with smaller crevasses. Most likely there wont be any, but we will adjust our plans accordingly once we get there.

As well, we are looking for a driver for this trip and are willing to pay for the gas cost for the trip.

Most importantly, I am looking forwards to meeting new people who are interested in the outdoors.

Hope to see you all here and PM me for logistical details. Have a wonderful Christmas everyone!
